Question:
I am about to install my Airlift 1000s in my 2004 Workhorse P32 chassis. Would a set of the 1000 HDs fit, and would there be any noticeable difference between the 1000s and the 1000 HDs?

The difference would be capacity and you would notice it. However, I checked with Airlift and there are no 1,000 HD bags that will fit your 2004 P32 Workhorse. The only option for air bags other than the Air Lift 1000 item # AL81560 you referenced is to use the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs item # AL88219. These are for your rear suspension and have a 5,000 lbs capacity.
I also recommend adding the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor item # AL58WQ to your RV. This onboard compressor will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air bags from your phone. This is a dual path compressor so if you decided to go with front and rear air bags it can be used to control both.
