Great question. I just spoke with my contact at Pace Edwards and we went over this.
The top of the Pace Edwards UltraGroove Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # 311-KRCA27A58 is not rated for weight. This is mainly to prevent people from attempting to use it as a work surface and put a ladder on it to reach a higher spot. Most of the cover’s capacity to hold weight relies on the cover being properly installed. Even so, we do not recommend using the top of the cover to hold weight. Small items yes, but no, you cannot stand on it.
