TST TPMS System TST-507-RV-4 - Can I Swap Cap Sensors For Internal Sensors

Updated 07/17/2025 | Published 10/24/2023

Question:

I purchased the TST-507-RV-4 system CAP SENSORS and would like to change to the in tireinch sensors. Can I just purchase the in-tire sensors and everything else will work?

Yes, you can swap out your cap sensors for internal sensors and they will work with your current TST-507-RV-4 system. We offer the internal sensors individually with part # TST-507-INT-S1. Definitely a good idea if you don't want to have to worry about a sensor going missing. The internal batteries usually last at least 5 years.

On the internal strap sensors TST-507-INT S1s, how can I determine the battery date code when looking at ones that have not yet been installed? I have some that have SL-6 and then a 4 digit number on the face of them, in this case the flur digit number after SL-6 is 4923. Is this where the week/year code is located on these, and does this mean the ones I am looking at were manufactured the 49th week of 2023? Or can the date of the batteries in them only be readable using the 507 monitor, once recognized by the monitor?

@BillB Hey Bill. Yes you are reading the date code on the internal sensors correctly. It is right on the front of the sensor next to the SL-6. I grabbed one from our warehouse and verified this.

@JesseM Thank you. This makes me concerned that I am replacing functioning ones from 2020 along with my new tires, and the 4 I received from you all the other day all have date codes of 2021 (4921). The only reason I am replacing the old ones is due to concern that their battery life is near its end. It doesn't make sense to replace them with 4 that were manufactured in 2021. It is too bad they don't have either an on/off switch or like a lit of thing

@JesseM Sorry accidentally hit send. That last sentence was supposed to be "like a lot of things have a thin film one can pull to activate the battery.
