Troubleshooting Dometic Water Heater Not Staying On

Question:

My Dometic/Atwood water heater on a 2022 Imagine XLS is heating once or twice, then refusing to go back on when heat is called for until I turn things off and back on. Ive replaced the thermal cut-off, the thermostats, and the board. Still doing it. I did use the cheaper board for $80 on Amazon... but tried two different ones. do I need to splurge for the Dometic board or do you think its something else? Gas supply is good, flow is good, no other errors or issues.

While we generally do recommend getting replacement parts directly from Dometic, it does not sound like the circuit board is the issue. It does sound like the issue lies with the Energy Cutoff Switch/Thermostat. This switch will activate and stop your unit to prevent overheating the water. Resetting the power like you have, has been clearing this issue but since it keeps tripping you'll need to have a licensed technician replace the thermal cut off switch (ECO) or the thermostat as that could be faulty.
