Will The Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Fit New GM Puck System?

Question:
I have a 2020 GMC 2500. Gmc recently moved the 5 hole fifth wheel prep back more towards the tailgate. When they did this, it caused my Anderson hitch set up to be too far back and didn’t allow a good pin clearance to the tailgate. The solution was to simply reverse the Anderson piece that stays with the pin 180 degrees which moved the nose of fifth wheel forward. Works great now. Due to buying a taller fifth wheel, I am now in need of a hitch that doesn’t require you to lift the trailer before pulling the truck away. Yet I also want to keep it lightweight. Since the offset is not adjustable, and with GMC moving the prep more to the rear, will I have the same issues I did with the Anderson or will I be ok?

We have installed the Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # C32DR on a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 which has the new style GM puck system. Do understand that while we didn't notice any issues when connected to a 5th wheel at our shop there are several different size 5th wheel pin boxes which would allow it to use on one but not the other. This hitch will give you a 9" offset if you want to see how that compares with your new 5th wheels pin box.
Personally I prefer to go with the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM79GV as it allows the trailer to slide back up to 14" as you turn without getting out of the truck. It will drop right into the outer mounting points on your beds puck system and provides the pull away style mounting system you are looking for. With the 14" of clearance I am not aware of any pin boxes which are not compatible with this hitch. Do understand you may need a locking plate depending on your 5th wheel.
