Troubleshooting Curt Trailer Wiring Harness that Blows Fuse When Brakes are Applied

Question:

2012 ford edge limited, installation went easy. Including routing a cable to the battery. It seems whenever i hit breaks, the fuse blows. tried this with two different trailers, could it simply be a bad ground?

You can try improving the grounds of the trailer wiring and the Curt harness part # C56120 to see if that prevents the fuse from blowing. My normal assumption is that there's a short on the stop/turn circuit but that's normally not the case if it's happening on two trailers. Check the wiring of the Curt harness to see if there's any cuts or exposed wiring that might cause a short.
