What Size Bikes Will Fit on the Thule T2 Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack

Question:

It is a little confusing about the size of bikes that this rack can carry,. i see the specs say 20-29 inches but reviewers suggest that kids bikes with smaller than 20 inch frames also fit. Since we want to carry our bikes and our grandchildrens bikes smaller than 20 inch frame or wheel?? will the T2 9034 accomodate us? What is the smallest size bike wheel and frame that the T2 TH83JV 2inch receiver can support. i want to haul kids bikes as well as adult bikes.

The 20 to 29 inches is in reference to the wheel sizes that the Thule T2, # TH83JV, can carry. It is possible that a smaller size would fit but it all depends on the bike. I would not recommend this rack though because there is no guarantee that a bike smaller than 20 inches will fit.

The Thule DoubleTrack, # TH92BJ, is a better option since it holds the bikes at the frame and not the just at the wheels. Since the hooks clamp on the frame a smaller wheel size will not be a factor.

Both of these racks only carry 2 bikes. It sounds like you need to carry more than 2 bikes at a time. In order to make the best rack recommendation I will need to know what Class trailer hitch you have. The Class rating should be on a sticker on the hitch. Or if that information is not available I can determine its Class by the weight capacity of the hitch.
