Troubleshooting Pop and Lock Tailgate Lock Installed on 2013 Ford F150
Updated 03/31/2014 | Published 03/28/2014 >
Question:
It works when it wants to. Some days it works great and others does not work at all. Any ideas how to fix. It is installed on a 2013 Ford F-150 Super Crew. When it works it locks and unlocks fine. On other days it does nothing no sound no unlock or lock.

Because the problem you describe is intermittent, I would suspect a wiring issue. I'd review the wiring connections where you tapped the wiring for the tailgate lock into the vehicle wiring behind the passenger-side kick panel. Instead of the quick-splice connectors (which can occasionally cause problems), use butt connectors for a more secure connection. Seal the connection with electrical tape or heat-shrink tubing.
