Question:

Hello. According to your note The included receiver attachment is only for hitch-mounted accessories and cannot be used for towing. To tow with this hitch, you must use the included ball mount attachment. In this case, if I need to make a recovery, Ill need to use the ball mount attachment. If I consider using a shackle installed on the ball mount hole, what would be the recommended shackles to be used? Thanks.

The Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # SH77FRT is not meant to be used in that manor and in all honesty is not something we are going to recommend you try and do.

The best bet would be to just use the Curt Bolt On Tow Hook with Keeper # C22411 for recovery purposes and use the hitch as it's designed.

This tow hook will get bolted to your frame, has a 10,000 lb capacity, and is used purely for recovery purposes.
