I recommend the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM89GV as the best hitch for your 2023 Ram 2500 short bed. This will drop into the factory bed mounts you have without the need for an adapter. This helps to reduce a lot of the noise other hitches get from the multiple mounting points having to use an adapter. The best part of the Demco is as you turn the hitch head begins to slide back. This will slide back up to 14" giving you the additional clearance needed to make full jackknife turns without having to get out of your truck like other manual sliders require.
