What are the Dimensions of the Thule Hideaway Awning Width and Projection

I am looking for a thule awning hide-away that is 10foot wide, I am confused about the way the measurements are presented in yrou website, when you say 10foot wide and 9foot long what does this mean? I understood that awnings had the width measurement and the projection measurement so which is wide and which is long?

Sorry for the confusion! The Thule Hideaway awning part # TH490010 is 10 feet long and projects out 8 feet when opened up.
