Reliable RV Roof Vent with Fan Similar to MaxxFan
Published 08/28/2023 >
Question:
I like the design of the unit - the large fan is in a cowling that will direct almost all of the air upward rather than letting a lot of the air just move around. But the reviews make me conclude that the controller board is unreliable. Are there any other fans like this with a relatively simple electric switch to the speeds rather than a circuit board that is subject to failure? Or at least any that could be re-wired, depending on whether the unit has one wire and is controlled by changing the voltage or has multiple wires that could be controlled by a multi-position switch?

Expert Reply:
The MaxxFans and the Fan-Tastic roof vents like the # FV802250 both have the cowling around the fan to pull the air up more directly compared to the Ventline that has the smaller fan on the bigger screen. Since the Fan-Tastic roof vents seem to have a better reputation that would be what I would recommend.
