Can I Mount the Demco G-Force Controller Upside but Still Facing the Rear?

Question:

I am attempting to install the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO in a 2018 Wrangler JK with manual transmission. I have done it successfully before in a Liberty so I am familiar with the system. I have run into a problem installing the G force controller. The left kick panel is out because the controller would be too close to the clutch. The only other possible area in there further up does not have a large enough flat surface to catch both holes and I am not sure what is behind the wall, making drilling scary. So, the question is, can the controller be upside down. Still pointed forward but rotated around the longitudinal axis 180 degrees. Based on how I believe it works, the only effect would be that the labeling for increasing and decreasing sensitivity would be wrong but down would still be max. If this is correct, I can mount it on the passenger kick panel. I will greatly appreciate your help and insight. The photos show the kick panel location and how close it is to the clutch. The second shows the upper position where the most forward hole is over a diagonal dip in the panel so cannot be secured reasonably without bending the box.

Thanks for the pictures! You can't mount it upside down. There's a mercury switch in the G-Force Controller item # DM78VR which is what senses the deceleration and triggers the braking system. The system works off of inertia so it has to be mounted in the correct orientation with the toggle switch facing the rear of the vehicle and the controller being level.

I have linked an installation video below our guys did on a 2020 Wrangler and they go over this step at the 8:40 mark. This being a automatic transmission Jeep there's noticeably more room than what you are working with. I recommend trying to go higher on the kick panel or going back behind the clutch and up like you're doing in the picture with your ring.
