I have 1983 EZ Loader boat trailer, 4 wheels. Is DM72VR a good replacement for the Drum Brake Surge Coupler?

The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM72VR will work for your 1983 EZ Loader boat trailer, as long as it has a straight, 3" wide trailer tongue. From what I could find on your trailer, that does appear to be the case. But to be safe, I recommend double checking that is the the tongue style that you have.

As long as that is the case, the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM72VR will work for your boat trailer.

This brake actuator does not come with a reverse lock-out, so you will want to have free backing brakes in your trailer or add a Reverse Lockout Solenoid # DM11993 so you can back up your trailer.

Yes, if you inserted a rod into the hole that in front of the housing of the actuator of the part #DM72VR that would work as a manual lock out and allow you to reverse the trailer.
