Does The Dummy Axle With RockyMounts DropTop Bike Rack Provide Ability To Secure The Bike?

Was looking at the rocky mount top and dummy axle. Was wondering how it locks. In other words can you just quick release the axle and pull it out and take the bike or does it clamp down on the axle somehow? Thanks.

Expert Reply:
The 9-mm Dummy Axle with Quick Release Handle # RKY1082 will still allow for the front forks to release from the RockyMounts DropTop Locking Truck Bed and Utility Track Bike Rack # RKY57ZR. The forks simply clamp inside the dummy axle like a quick release wheel would. You will want to use a type of Cable Lock # e98891 to secure the bike through the frame to your truck or trailer. I have included a video of the dummy axle being used below so you can see how everything works.
