Can An RV Fireplace Be Powered By An Inverter

Question:
I have an older camp trailer that the previous owners removed the propane furnace and installed an electric fireplace for heat. Is there a way that I can still use this fireplace for heat via an inverter? I am seeing conflicting info on the internet as to whether that is even possible or whether the trailer battery would last long enough to heat the space. The fireplace is rated at 1500 watts and I have a 3000w inverter. But each time I try it the inverter shuts down and throws warning alarms. Is this at all possible to achieve or should I look at other heat sources? Thanks.

A 3000 watt inverter should be rated for 25 amps at 120v or 250 amps at 12v which would be well above what a 1500 watt fireplace would pull. You would need to look at the battery capacity to determine how long it could power the inverter and fireplace. RV fireplaces, like Greystone 26" Electric Fireplace with Crystals # 324-000068, will typically require a 15 amp outlet so I recommend checking the power draw of the fireplace and the capacities of the inverter in order to determine if it can handle the fireplace. I would also check the capacity of the battery to see how long the inverter can power the fireplace.
