Question:
We are trying to decide between a Malone EcoLight and a MicroSport trailer. What does it mean when they say the maximum kayak length is 14foot centered versus 12foot not centered? We would be hauling 2 14foot kayaks/ Is the larger/longer trailer required for multiple boats? Also, what if we added the 2nd level bunk for a third or fourth kayak? Tow vehicles usually would be a 2017 Camry or a 2009 Outback, although it also might be a 1998 Ford van. Thanks

Well if you plan on sticking with just two 14' kayaks then the Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG460G is the way to go. This trailer is a bit more expensive than the EcoLight, but you do get a bit more trailer for the difference.
This trailer, as I'm sure you're aware, has a much higher weight capacity at 800 lbs and can haul boats up to 20' long which gives you plenty of wiggle room.
If you plan on hauling more than 2 kayaks then all you'd need to do is get the 2nd Tier Load Bar System for Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG474.
