Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12170 is a good fit for your 2023 Mazda CX-5.
But to be completely honest, you are better off going with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98902. The reason being that the Curt hitch provides a 1-1/4" hitch receiver and the etrailer hitch has a 2" hitch receiver. The 2" receiver is the most common size used for hitch mounted accessories. From bike racks and cargo carriers to ball mounts.
You can always adapt 1-1/4" hitch accessories to use in a 2" hitch, but you will not be able to adapt a 2" accessory to the 1-1/4" hitch.
