Troubleshooting A Coach Step That Only Works Periodically

Question:

Hello I have a ScCS/FRIGETTE COACH STEP. Part # 733-0001. The step now works periodically. I hold a new magnet next to it and it still does the same. Is there a particular magnet I need to make it work consistently?

I spoke with Lippert and they at first weren't getting anything off of the 733-0001 number but just got back to me stating that the Replacement Door Switch for Lippert Electric Coach Step # LC301694 would be the correct door magnet for your Coach Step.

That being said, if the light comes on every time even when it doesn't want to extend then the issue is most likely with the motor itself and not actually the door magnet. If you could send me a picture of the tag on the mounting bracket of the steps so I could confirm the model number I'd be happy to find the correct replacement motor as well.
