I found an online copy of the owners manual for the 2013 Chevy Captiva and in section 10-70 it does indicate that you can flat tow the vehicle (front wheel drive and all wheel drive). Consult your owners manual for additional flat towing information.

You will need base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow a vehicle. For base plates you can use Demco base plates # DM9518218 that you referenced. For a compatible tow bar I reocmmend the Commander, # DM9511010. It has a capacity of 6,000 pounds and it includes safety cables.

For lighting, if you are not going to be towing often I recommend a magnetic kit # RM-2120. You will not have to splice into the vehicle wiring to install this kit. If you plan on towing the Captive often then I recommend a more permanent solution, diode kit # 154-792-118158.

The owners manual also states that a fuse has to be pulled to avoid draining the vehicle battery while towing the Captiva. To make this process as easy as flipping a switch use fuse bypass # RM76511.

Most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest systems to set up and use are proportional systems, like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. It will apply the Captiva brakes in proportion to how much the motor home is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
