Are Hydraulic Struts Available for the SportRack Explorer Cargo Box

Question:
Hello, I was hoping that this kit would come with hydraulic struts. But are those large white round pieces made to hold the lid open? Im confused about how they work and about what they are called!. If I was to buy this kit, what are the chances of getting some kind of hydraulic struts instead? Thanks!

The SportRack Explorer Hardware Kit, # SR05587, is not available with hydraulic struts. The SportRack Explorer cargo box was not designed to accept hydraulic struts, so we do not have any available that will work.
SportRack calls the large white round pieces the support assembly. When the box is opened, the support assembly uses the metal arms and spring to assist in opening, closing and holding the lid. I made a short video showing how this assembly works.
Cargo box lids are typically very light and do not require a hydraulic strut. Spring loaded struts are the typical application.
