Where Is the Serial Number on the Roadmaster EvenBrake Located?

Question:

The only number I found for my even brake is on a tag on the bottom of the even brake and that number is 010695. Is this the serial number?

I checked the owner's manual and Roadmaster states the serial number for the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400 is located on a label on the underside of the unit.

I am starting a project for a towing of a 2014 Jeep Gladiator. I have a used Even Brake system that I got from another source I have a monitor system to place in the motor home The Replacement receiver is what I am asking about It seems the Serial number on the Even Brake system is 011860 Can the even brake system unit be tested first. Second what part do I need for the receiver to work on this serial number and external monitor. I have the monitor for the RV Thanks I will be looking for other things as well and will probably go to you guys for help if that is ok Thank you Bill Crittenden

@William Hey Bill, if I'm understanding you correctly you have the receiver # RM-9410 and the monitor but nothing else? If that's the case, then I'd honestly suggest just getting the entire system because you need a ton of parts. As far as testing goes, that isn't something we do unfortunately.

Bryce I have the unit and the monitor. I don’t have the receiver. I think there is a difference in which receiver you get from the serial number. Just asking which receiver to get based on the serial number I provided. Also is there a way to test this unit to see if it works before I invest any more money in this project

@Bill To my knowledge I don't think there is a difference in which receiver you get based on the serial number so the # RM-9410 should work fine. To test the Even Brake, just press the "Test" button on the control panel. This will begin a self-diagnostic cycle where the brake pedal clamp will cycle up and down three times, verifying the Even Brake is positioned correctly and the towed vehicle's brake system is ready for towing.
