Can Electric, Heated, Turn Signal Towing Mirrors be Added to Trucks that Do Not have those Features

Question:

I have power mirrors and ive seen a video where the stock mirrors were replaced by ones that had power,heat,and turn signal with no extra wiring is this true? I have a 2010 silverado LT

Expert Reply:

You can replace factory mirrors with mirrors that have heat and electric operation including turn signals but those features will only work on the new mirrors if the original mirrors had those functions to start with. If your factory mirrors do not have these features then those features will still not work on the new mirrors.

2015 chevy silverado 2500 hd ltz, 6.6l dieselDoes this truck have heated mirrors? I dont see any control switches for heat. It has power folding, power adjust, turn signals

I looked up the manual for this vehicle. If the vehicle is equipped with heated mirrors, the button will be underneath the defrost button in the climate control cluster. It will be the same button as the rear window defogger. When the rear window defogger button is pushed it will defog the rear window and activate the heated mirrors at the same time.

according to the option placard, it is heated with the k40 option. yes, the defroster controls the heated mirrors also. Now i need to find a set of mirrors, powered, heated, power folding, turn signals, and extendable for trailers, to replace the ones someone put on the truck.

Unfortunately, do not carry any mirrors that will have the power folding feature for that year make model truck. We have them with all of the other features just not power folding.
