Question:
HI, I just installed a Tekonsha Prodigy P2 in my brand new 2022 Chevy Colorado. I am getting the SH code on the control display without a trailer connected, which I understand probably means there is a short somewhere in the wiring. Im fairly sure its wired properly but my question is, is it possible to get a SH code due to wrong wiring connections , or does it necessarily mean there is a short downstream of the connections? Thanks for your assistance.

The SH code is saying the blue wire leaving the controller is connecting to ground some where after the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885. Typically this occurs either at the wiring connector for the brake controller or at the 7-Way # HM11141144. You can remove the connectors to verify you do not see any damage to the pins. This can also help you to determine if the issue is inside the 7-way connector if the error goes away after you remove the 7-way.
If you have a factory 7-way and wiring you should be able to have any issues with the wiring fixed under warranty.
