Question:

Hi, Im looking for a Platform type bike rack for a particular application. Are there any that can be used with a 1.25 trailer hitch? If not and Im assuming a 1.25 to 2 adapter is not recommended, then is there a 2 trailer hitch available for a 2017 Honda Fit? I know thats a really large hitch for such a small car. Lastly, I intend to use this rack on the Honda Fit while flat towing behind a motorhome. Are any of your 4 bike Platform racks approved for that application?

It is possible to make this work on your 2017 Honda Fit. You will need to start by adding the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7273. This will give you the 2" receiver you need to allow for a platform bike rack that can handle 4-bikes while being flat-towed.

For a bike rack, I recommend the Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # Y02443-2. This platform rack has a 4-bike capacity at 50 lbs per bike. It is rated for a flat-towed vehicle, and secures the bikes by the front wheels so there is no frame contact. It also comes with a safety kit with 2 red LED lights and a flag so it is more visible on the back of your 2017 Honda Fit.
