Solution for Replacing 10 Gallon Dometic RV Water Heater

Question:

Hello! I’m looking to replace my Atwood 10 gallon electric and gas water heater because it is leaking. I would like to get another gas and electric unit, but it looks like you only carry the Dometic wh6ga, which is smaller than the current water heater I am replacing. Will this smaller water heater fit if I buy the door conversion kit with trim? Or do I need to look for a Dometic 10 gallon water heater? Thanks very much for your help!

If you have a 10 gallon water heater now I wouldn't recommend going down to a 6 gallon like the # DMC74FR unless you find that you aren't using the current hot water capacity you have and would be okay with having less to access.

This is our only standard water heater at this time so I would instead recommend a tankless setup like the Furrion RV Tankless water heater part # FR68SR which instead gives you unlimited hot water without the limitations of a tank.
