Question:
SO I have this exact controller, surepull, digitrac, and I have an electric over hydraulic system on my trailer. The brake controls will just keep increasing in output voltage until brakes lock up when I mash the brake even though I do not keep mashing the brake harder. I can operate the thumb lever on the controller and it does not do that it will hold a steady voltage according to where I move the lever to. Mash brake pedal just slightly and voltage just keeps increasing until lockup. What should I check next or is this a good controller for EOH brakes? Thanks

You could try checking the ground connection and make sure it is secure on a clean, bare-metal surface. Outside of that, it sounds like it has an internal problem based on your description and will need to be replaced. The fact that it works properly when you use the manual override, but it progressively adds power until the brakes lock up when you use the brake pedal couldn't really be anything else.
I recommend replacing it with a more modern brake controller like the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR. Redarc makes a reliable product that will work with your EOH setup. I like this brake controller because the main unit mounts behind the dash so the only thing taking up space in the cab is the control knob. The knob controls the braking power and acts as the manual override.
If your current brake controller is hardwired you will need the # RED69FR for installation. If you have a factory port for a plug and play installation I can see if a custom wiring harness is available if you let me know the year, make and model of your vehicle.
