Question:

I have a 2016 EZ Loader trailer with tandem torsion axles. Can I replace them with new leaf spring axles with no brakes? The trailer model number is TA102B 22-24 5200. It holds a 2016 Robalo Cayman 246.

I recommend checking out the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension # TSR7000T04 for your 2016 EZ Loader trailer. This will allow you to bolt the suspension to the trailer rather than having to have frame hangers welded on. It also uses a rubber spring suspension system which is more progressive than steel and will help reduce bouncing much better. You will be able to attach 2 Straight Axles # 7359765-I or 4" Drop Axles # 7685269-I with idler hubs. I do recommend checking your local laws for trailer brake requirements as your 2016 Robalo Cayman 246 has a dry weight of 3,700lbs. Combined with a 1,000lb trailer you are most likely going to be required to have 2 Brake Kits # DE42FR installed with either a Surge Coupler # DM62VR or Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # HS481-8067.
