Troubleshooting An Everchill RV Refrigerator With Flashing Blue Temp Button

Updated 04/24/2023 | Published 04/22/2023

Question:

2021 heartland wilderness 2121… Fridge not cooling, I’ve done all the things you have mentioned a few times. It is built in so no access to the back, and no breaker so I cut power from the battery and shore power, over night. Still getting the flashing blue temp button. Any other suggestions ? Just purchased from a person that NEVER used it, but was always powered up.

The Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer # 324-000119 is a bit notorious for having issues like this, but there are a few simple things you can do to troubleshoot the issue. The first being checking the power and ground. Ensure that your fridge is actually getting 12 volts and that the ground is ran directly to the frame of the RV instead of running to a busbar and then to the frame.

The next thing to do would be to gain access to the lower rear of the unit so that you can check the drain tube. Even if your fridge is built in to the cabinet you should still have an exterior vent that you can remove to access the back of the fridge (pictured below). There will be a grate that you'll need to remove and then you should be able to see a tube running down to a pan to collect the water. You'll want to clean the line out using a long tube cleaner to ensure there are no obstructions.

If the power and ground are good and drain tube is clean then it would indicate and internal issue with the control board, which you'd have to talk with the manufacturer to replace.
