Question:
My awning extends like its suppose to however when I push the the retract switch it barely retracts and sometimes stops. I bypassed the switch and ran wires from the battery directly to the motor and it works like it should both extending and retracting. Could this be a faulty switch not making proper contact? Its a Solara awning. What do you think?

That is exactly what it sounds like is going on. for your situation I recommend checking the wiring on the back of the switch to make sure it's clean and has solid connections. If it looks like it needs to be replaced then you just need the switch itself:
- Black Switch # LC285500
- White Switch # LC285499
Just be sure to follow the wiring instructions that come with the switch if you end up replacing it.
