Are The Blue And Yellow Road Armor Equalizers The Same Thing
Updated 04/17/2023 | Published 04/13/2023 >
Question:
I want to upgrade the standard shackle from the oem with the lippert road armor. Will the blue noted in your QandA as OEM work for aftermarket installation or must I use the yellow noted in your QandA as for aftermarket. In other words, are the blue and yellow identical except for the color?

Yes, the blue and yellow paint jobs are completely meaningless when it comes to the performance of the Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit # LC696740. The important thing is to make sure that the measurements are the same so that your system still the right amount of room to travel as you go over bumps in the road.
The # LC696740 has a 6" measurement from center to center on the eyelets. You'll want to measure your current equalizer to ensure that yours is either the same or close. A little bit of change is ok, as long as your leaf springs and shackle straps can still form a "W" shape (pictured below) once installed. The springs and shackle straps will ride back and forth towards the center hanger in this shape, but if you get too far out of range it get lead to your suspension binding up.
If you get another measurement for your equalizer then let me know and I can find an upgraded option closer to it.
