Question:

I am trying to decide between the Load Lifter 5000 57388 or the Load lifter 5000 ultimate 88388. I want the setup that will ride the best when I am not towing or do not have a load in the bed. I am looking for the best ride when traveling with truck only. I have a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 4WD.

For your 2023 GMC Sierra 1500, I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 item # AL57388 over the item # AL88388. Both of these systems are confirmed to fit the AT4 4WD models. They each have a 5,000 lbs capacity that will both support your rear end and level it out when you are towing a trailer or hauling a heavy load in the back. Air bags in general are the best option for suspension enhancement if you don't want to notice them on daily driving.

The main difference between the two is the Internal Jounce Bumper that item # AL88388 has. Unless you're planning on driving around with no air pressure in the bags this feature isn't necessary. It's a failsafe that prevents the bottom and top brackets from touching each other if there's no pressure in the bags. If you are driving around with low enough air pressure that the jounce engages it will feel like your suspension bottomed out.

I recommend adding the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System item # AL74000. This onboard compressor will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air bags from the comfort of your cab.
