Question:

Hello, I have a Kwikee 32 step system on a 1999 Fleetwood Motorhome. The automatic steps have failed and do not extend or retract. Thinking it was the motor, I recently purchased the motor LC379608 to replace the old 5973820 motor from you and Im still having issues. Now its down to the control module and or the gear box. My current control module is # 909506000. My current gear box has A linkage. Since Ive already bought the motor and its installed, what is the new control module LC# and gearbox LC# that will work with my motor? Thanks

Ideally for the Kwikee series 32 steps on your 1999 Fleetwood motorhome you would want to install the Motor Upgrade Kit # LC379145 to gain all the benefits from having an IMGL system. These became the standard in 2006 and have far less issues. As you already replaced your motor with the Pre-IMGL Motor # LC379608 you will most likely need the Pre-IMGL Control Box # LC379606. You can always test your gear box by removing the motor and operating the steps manually. If the steps open and close manually you know the gearbox is working correctly. If the gearbox is damaged you will then need to upgrade to the IMGL kit above.
