How to Determine if Demco Kar Kaddy X Has Enough Ground Clearance for Air Dam
Published 03/21/2023 >
Question:
1. Will the Demco tow dolly carry a 2014 VW Beetle automatic? 2. Will the front air dam clear the TD? 3. Will the rear end be too close to the ground based on a 100” wheel base? 4. Should steering wheel be locked or loose? Looking to tow behind a motorhome.

To ensure you do not damage the air dam on your 2014 VW Beetle there are a few measurements you will need to make. First you will need to measure the ground clearance of your air dam from the ground. If this is less than 3.5" you will not be able to use the dolly without risking damage to the front of your air dam. For a measurement taller than 3.5" you will need to multiply this measurement by 4.3 for the Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly # DM9713045.
This number will be the maximum length you can have from where your tire touches the ground to where the lowest point on your air dam is. For an example if you have 5" of vertical clearance on your air dam that will give you 23" for the Kaddy X.
