Yes, the Malone SteelTop Roof Rack will work great with the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Roof Rack part # TH898 on a 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan. That said, I recommend going with the longer 65" crossbars part # MPG203 since you need more overhang for the Thule Hullavator.

Hi Connor, We also have a 2017 Tiguan with a roof rack. Our model is 2.0T Sport. We want to get 2 carriers for 2 kayaks. Do all Tiguans have the same rack? If not, what do we need to do for ours to get the right equipment. TY!

@Krom When you say roof rack do you mean it has crossbars that run from left to right or do you mean rails that run from front to back on the vehicle? Are you wanting an assisted carrier like the Hullavator or something that isn't assisted?

Sorry for the inarticulate question. Kayaking newbies. We just not kayaks. Totally beginner kayaks. Not high end. So while I love the ease of the Hullavator (emphasis on love) I don’t think it is an investment we are willing to make right now. The rails run front to back. If you can recommend something for us in these circumstances, I’d be grateful. Thank you!

@Krom We can definitely help! For a set of crossbars the Malone AirFlow 2 part # MAL74AR is a fit and definitely doesn't break the bank while is also a really solid option that works great. For a kayak carrier then the etrailer carrier part # e98878 would work well. It's not assisted but it's also A LOT less expensive hahaha.
