Why Is The Fabric Used On The Outside Of The TruXedo Boat Windshield Cover # TX38FR?
Published 03/10/2023 >
Question:
Im debating between the Truxedo that you sell and the Gravel Guardian at Bass Pro Shops. They both are very similiar and they both seem to be displayed backwards. My question is why is the soft side of the windshield cover on the outside while the rigid plastic side is against the glass? I would think it would be just the opposite from the point that the soft side would be easier on the windshield, the harder side would be easier to maintain and clean. I know others have asked similar questions on different forums and websites. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

The TruXedo Boat Windshield Cover # TX38FR places the polypropylene against the windshield to protect it from scratches. If you were to put the fabric side against the windshield it could hold particles of dirt and debris. While in tow the cover could then move around which would scratch the windshield if this happens. The polypropylene will not grab hold onto dirt like the fabric and reduces the chances of scratches on the windshield. The fabric/carpet material is used on the outside as it is more durable than the polypropylene foam.
