I take the nut off the bolt and remove the jack. There looks like a tapered spacer on the nut . Is this correct ?

In regards to mounting the Fulton Bolt-Thru Swivel Marine Jack part # F1411300301 you'll need a mounting kit like the Bolt-On Mounting Kit for Fulton part # F500349 which contains the mount and the center bolt, nut, and tapered spacer. The only other thing you'll need are u-bolts. I have attached a photo below of the kit components which contains the tapered spacer.
