Can a Thule Roof Rack Be Centered on a 2013 Honda Pilot Instead of Following the Recommended Spacing

Question:

We installed the roof rack according the measurements provided. It seems to be too far forward rather than being centered on the roof. It’s a 2013 Honda Pilot. Can we shift the rack back a few inches to center it on the vehicle? I’m attaching a photo and yes, we realize the bars need to switched 180 degrees. Somehow we missed that instruction.

It is not a clear cut yes or no. The measurements provided for installing the 2013 Honda Pilot Roof Rack by Thule are tested and determined to be the best points for mounting. However, depending on the taper of the roof you may be able to move them back slightly. The roof rack likely will not be able to move much, but you can absolutely move them if the shape of the vehicles roof allows it.
