Are The Tire Chains Placed On The Front or Rear Axle of a 2019 Ford Escape 4 Wheel Drive?

Question:
I have a 2019 Ford Escape 4wd. I usually drive it in the snow without chains, but this resent storm makes me think I need the chains. Since it’s 4wd, I’m not sure which axle to place the chains, front or rear? Thanks!!!

Per the owners manual on your 2019 Ford Escape it specifies to use the chains on the front axle. The 235/55-17 is the only tire size on your Escape which will allow for the use of tire chains and they must be 10mm or smaller. The Konig Easy Fit Tire Chains # TH04115104 meet these guidelines and are some of the easiest to install.
