Question:
Hello, I would like to install a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 brake controller in my 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.6L duramax. My truck already has the factory brake controller, but I want to bypass it with the P3 brake controller. Can you please send me all the part numbers I need and links to the parts. Plus, please send any installation wiring instructions or videos. Thank you. You guys always provide excellent info.

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 will work on a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado even if you have the factory brake controller. However, you will need to disable and bypass the factory brake controller in order for the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 to work properly. I have attached a help article for you which shows the process to disable and bypass the factory brake controller.
No additional components would be needed aside from the controller.
