Will Single Set of Tire Chains on 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Be Adequate for Snow
Published 12/02/2022 >
Question:
So, I found the chains that will fit my Rav4 hybrid TH01594245, and owners manual says to install them on the front tires. Can I ONLY install them on the front tires? Or could I put a chain on all 4 tires without any problems? Seems like there would be better overall traction on snow/ice if I had 4 chains instead of just on the front 2 tires.

We have to recommend you stick with what the manufacturer recommends for tire chain usage, but it is perfectly acceptable to use a single set of tire chains on a vehicle like the Thule # TH01594245 that you want to use with your 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime. You'll be able to get around just fine with just the one set. Would you have better braking and handling with a set of chains on all 4 wheels? Yes, but a single set on the main drive axle will work really well.
