Question:

Hi, I am considering purchasing the Thule Sidekick along with the Malone rails that have T-Track capability. My question is whether these T-Track adapters will fit the Thule Sidekick. I think this would be a nicer way to mount the box instead of the included U-bolts. What do you think? Would love to purchase this today. Thanks!

I checked with Thule and the Thule Sidekick item # TH78GC is not compatible with the T-Track Adapter for Thule Cargo Boxes item # TH27PQ. It fits only the cargo boxes with the PowerClick attachment points.

The T-Track adapter would not be a better option, over the included hardware, to mount the Sidekick on the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack item # MPG216. It would push the cargo box up higher on the crossbars. The included u-bolts will have the bottom of the Sidekick mounted flush to the top of the crossbars.

The Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack item # MPG216 is confirmed to fit the raised rails on your 2021 Volkswagen Atlas. They weigh 12 lbs and have a 165 lbs capacity.
