Is There A Separate Monitoring System Available To Alert You When The Brakes Are Depressed

Question:
Hi, I have a Blue Ox Patriot tow vehicle Auxilary braking unit. I would like to see if there is a product that allows me to know when my tow vehicle brakes are being applied. IE - directly from tow vehicle brake light switch, etc. I had a problem where the brake controller was adjusted incorrectly and it applied the brakes without activating the LED letting me know brakes were being applied. Looking for direct feedback from vehicle itself, not the controller. Thanks

If you're wanting a signal that the brakes are being applied in your towed vehicle, separate from the Blue Ox braking system you have then you could first install the Roadmaster Universal Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751000. This kit will attach to your brake pedal and sense when it's depressed and send out a signal which you'll tie into the Roadmaster Universal Brake Monitor # RM-9530.
The # RM-9530 is going to have a receiver for your motorhome that will plug into a 12v outlet and display that the system is on, when the brakes are being applied, and if a breakaway event occurs. The receiver also has an audible noise when the brakes are depressed so that you won't have to constantly be looking at it.
I've attached a short video below where Rob will walk you through the installation process for both of these parts.
