As you only have the passenger side not working it sounds like their is either damage to the wiring or the step motor. First you will want to use a Test Light # PTW2993 to check for power on the harness of the Aries ActionTrac Motorized Running Boards # AA3047902. If you do not have power at the motor then you will need to follow along the harness to the control board checking for where it loses power. If there is still no power at the control board check the connector to ensure it is not damaged. With still no power you will need to check the signal to make sure you are getting signal from the door sensors.

If you do have power at the motor you will need to verify the ground connection is not damaged. You can also test the motor by connecting to it directly to run the steps in and out verifying if the motor has gone out. These steps do have a limited lifetime warranty so be sure to contact Aries to verify if the issue will be covered under warranty.

I think my motor on these steps has gone out on my passenger side. Driver side works just fine, passenger is stuck in the down position. Checked the fuse by the battery, checked harness plug ins, checked sensors, everything seems fine. Even pulling the fuse and putting back in, I can hear the driver side motor, nothing from passenger. My question is that I bought the jeep a few months ago, these were already installed? I don’t have the original paperwork? So how would I go about getting a motor or parts?

@TylerD We don't sell a replacement motor for those steps. I know these have a limited lifetime warranty but I am not sure if that transfers to a new owner....BUT you might be able to plead your case either way to them if you were to contact them directly.

@TylerD Were you able to get done with this? I'm having the same issue with my truck where I bought the truck with them installed and I don't have the original paperwork...
