i have a trailer that is currently fitted w/ 1 sets of surge brakes. my new ram truck has a controller built in. what will it take to convert my trailer?

In order to use the trailer brakes with an electric trailer brake controller you'll need an electric over hydraulic actuator if you don't already have one, I recommend the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator part # HS381-9065 for drum or part # HS381-9067 for disc. In order to make an electric over hydraulic actuator work with a factory trailer brake controller you'll just need an adapter. I recommend the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Adapter Module part # HBA-CAM which wires in on the trailer. It works with all electric actuators and factory trailer brake controllers.
