Question:
01 landcruiser pull vehicle, boat trailer wheels lock up when backing. It only has a 4 prong flat plug light hook up. Boat has a 5 prong. I pulled it with a 2006 Sequoia that had a round plug, I used a round plug adapter, round end plugged in to Sequoia and 5 prong flat to boat trailer, and it backed up fine. Im trying to figure out what I need to be able to pull with both vehicles. Also, when pulling with my Landcruiser when I take off quick, or go to stop Im getting a lot of play from the receiver, none with the Sequoia with the round plug. My boat is a 21foot Ranger bass boat, with disc brakes on two wheels. What do I need Thanks

The Curt Trailer Connector Adapter # C57187 will provide you with the additional 5th wire for the 5-way your 2001 Landcruiser does not have. This 5th wire will connect to the reverse lights on your Landcruiser so when you drive in reverse it will activate the Reverse Lockout Solenoid # DM11993. This solenoid prevents brake fluid from pushing through the actuator and activating the trailer brakes when you back up.
For the play in your receiver this is likely due to a larger tolerance in the receiver itself. A Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061 will help to remove the play in the receiver to the ball mount.
