Question:

Can this hitch be installed with the car on the ground? I don’t have a lift of any sort. The car is a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek.

If you and a set of extra helping hands can fit under your 2023 Subaru Crosstrek then you should be able to wiggle the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36644 around enough to get it installed. I know for myself that I'm big enough I would need to have a vehicle lifted up unless it was on a bigger vehicle like a truck.

Since you don't already have service ramps I do recommend picking up the FloTool RhinoRamps Vehicle Ramp Set # FT11909MI and keeping them handy in your garage. I'm not very handy when it comes to fixing cars but I can do some basics things like changing the oil and a ramp set like this makes tinkering around WAY easier.
