Question:

How do I tell if my hitch was factory installed, or if an aftermarket hitch was installed by the previous owner or dealer? Im looking at frame mounted tie downs, and this is one of the determining factors on which parts to get.

While you are correct that the hitch you have on your 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 is one of the factors for finding the correct camper tie-downs, but most work with both factory hitches and non-torklift aftermarket hitches. You only need more specific tie-downs when you have a TorkLift aftermarket hitch, which you likely do not have.

The HappiJac Truck-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs # LC350763-182971 are frame mounted tie-downs that will fit the 5-1/2', 6-1/2' and 8' bed. They also fit with or without a board/step underneath the bed and with a factory hitch or non-torklift after market hitch.

You would also need turnbuckles to secure the camper to the tie-downs.

You likely do not have a TorkLift hitch, but if you would like to send in a picture of your hitch then I would be happy to verify.
