Question:
2010 Chevy Silverado 1500. Almost same problem new installation, no trailer connected. After connecting all wires then plugging P2 in .c. starts flashing. Depressed brake pedal PL is flashing. I took the P2 out of my 01 GMC 2500 that works really good and connected it and same problem. I depressed the brake pedal and went to check the 7 way connecter on the rear bumper ground and trailer brake blades with a voltage meter from 2v something to 6.9v. I took 7 blade connector out look at blade and wire end, its all GM factory and looks good.

The "P.L." error code on the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 indicates that there is a power interruption while the brake pedal is depressed.
In order to try and fix the "P.L." error you just simply need to check your ground and power wire connections so basically on the problem truck you need to check the condition of the white and black wires and you will find your problem.
