Do you turn the Anderson hitch around for a long bed truck with the rail system

According to the installation instructions for the:
-Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System with Adapter # AM3200, you will need to install the ball closer to the cab of the truck.
However, if you find that you need more clearance you can install the base with the ball closer to the tailgate.
